SQL question/suggestion

Post by TooL » Sat Feb 18, 2006 12:35 pm

How large of a task would it be to incorporate SQLite into War3x?

It wouldn't be a HUGE problem, I will look into it, I need to get Lazarus back on here to find out what the major differences were, I haven't heard from him in a while

We have had a virtual problem free experience with SQLite and War3FT for the past few months. I think it would be a great addition and enable a lot more server owners with no access to SQL servers to run War3x w/o the lag issues. IMO it becomes a huge turnoff when the vault starts lagging and there are no alternatives.

I agree. We have a "database update" (either 1.1 or 1.2) planned that will add things like warcraft stats to the dbs, as well as finally add the auto-pruning feature to the SQL database. I don't believe it would be easy (if at all possible) to prune the vault database, and SQLite seems like a perfect solution to this problem.
