Exact Bug Report for Version 3.0 (Latest Release)

Hello @ Developers,

Great fixes.. now the WC3 Version works correctly!
But now our Players reports (alot) us some Bugs and more...

All things was discussed in german, so sorry for the bad translation!

I HOPE YOU CAN FIX IT ALL...

-------------------------------------------

BUGS:
- When joining the server, the player first must type "changerace" to see the Menu
- Only 1 HE Buy at Round Start (want works)
- When you type "shopmenu" or use the bind, it needs over 1 second until Menu pops up!
- Moles still cant buy Weapons
- Godmode at round start dont works
- Spectators who has choosen a race got XP for "HELP"!!!! (IMPORTANT) -- BIG BUG
- Until you shoot at an Bloodmage, the attacker get faded to black and for few seconds he looks like an small ball!
- Until using Chameleon, the Ultimate ICONS are sometimes WRONG

Others:
- Shopmenu Pricing is to HIGH! All our Players flame about it...
- Neckless & Helm are to fast used out and are to expensive
- Until you change to ORC, you dont get your weapons back
- Multilangual Shopmenues want works anymore (Need German)

I don't actually see any problems in what you've posted except for the FIRST one - which has been fixed for the next release...

The shopmenu issue has to do w/the ping of the server, not war3ft

Multilanguage has been removed until there is a 3.0 release (I'm changing too much to maintain a list)

about the pricing and the helm and necklace: they now have charges, meaning that you can only use them a number of times AND the helm now costs 3000.

Okay, when you are playing and THEN joining Spectate (whis selected race).. NOW select some player (Turn XP Awarding Info on!!)
You will see that you earn XP when the Player you are spectating kill someone or something else! (Help Award)
- Until you shoot at an Bloodmage, the attacker get faded to black and for few seconds he looks like an small ball!
- this is called banish, it's new

I said aleready that this server runs over 3 Years WC3 Mod.
But only since rc5 the shopmenu is laggy!

Before RC5 you earn them beck when you change in death mode to ORC!
that was a bug

"Neckless of Imunity with Loads is horrible! You must buy 3-4 Neckless each Round that you are good protected, and neckless is to expansive for this!!!"

And one guy says (i try my best for all the translations ;))

"Neckless of Imunity want works correctly! Sometimes Enemys (Humans) porting them in front of me if i still have Neckless!
So its unusable..."

And...

"Is it normal that i loose 2 blocks per attack?"

And one problem is the Warden Ultimate!

Moving this - the only thing that was a bug is the charges removed twice - which is known

If you don't like these changes, then stick with 2.3.2... 3.0 is meant to be different

By 'godmode' he means spawn protection, and what he's trying to say about XP is that there is some way to get XP assist points while you're a spectator.

Which I think is fine... If you shot them, then go to spec, you should still get the assist XP if the guy dies

And lot other things in my lists above are important.
I just want help to optimize the new version!

And i dont want switch to an older one, because this new one is verry good!
But this things above should be fixed soon...
I would do it by my self, but your code archiv for wc3 mod is to big now hehe ;)

I know, Coders dont like when others say.. bug bug ,.... but it's an Bug for me, because in the old Version it wasnt present, and in the new version it's not listet in the changelog!

And the Problem with CHANGERACE MENU at server join is an bug!
Also that Spectators earn XP!!
Also that only 1 HE Buy per Round want works...
and the thing with Warden and 50 % Life reduce is also an... bug?!

What ever...
All these things are the final report from myself and over 200 Players in the last 2 Days..

No, sorry, he means that on his server spectators gain XP simply by following a player who is in game. i.e., switch to spec at spawn, follow someone who is killing people, then rejoin later on, and you get the assist XP for all the kills that you specced.

I'm not saying whether he's right or not, as I haven't confirmed it. But that's what he's trying to say.

Yes thanks for the translate help...

I must report now a new BIG and old RC3? Problem...

The Server is still get LAGGY after a time...
Also the Server is crashing because of War3ft!
The Reason is totaly unclearly... but it does..
Ping swaps sometimes over 4000

"Mostly if the server has over 25 / 28 Players"

Now more and more players report us alot of LAGG Problems since this Wc3ft Update.


Now they are all crying ... grml... the new version is so nice with ultimate feature and other simple things.... i dont wanna change again to an older one :(

Are you using a MySQL database? If so, try optimizing the database table:

OPTIMIZE TABLE war3users;

Change 'war3users' to whatever your table is called. 25+ players is a lot, and this isn't a small plugin. Try reducing your server load by removing unnecessary plugins, etc. Also check that you're not simply exceeding your server's available bandwidth.

-e- And yea, np. It must be frustrating trying to explain concepts like the above in a language that you're not familiar with. If your first language is German, Dutch or Russian then I can probably find someone to help translate the bug reports from your forum for you.

If any of that is the only current bug, I would say that is the only one. Maybe the spec assist xp, but I am not sure about that. Also, I am going by the latest beta release for this.


Like Geesu said, if you can't handle the bitching from your members until they get used to it, downgrade to 2.3.2 and AMXX1.71. 3.0 is new, if you don't like it, downgrade. Even if it is annoying, they are new features. If you want them changed, you will have to do them yourself

All my listed points are facts and submited by many players (not by my self)

Before RC5 Version it also works with 25+ / 28 Players (Same Plugin List)
Just since RC5 Release (or also rc3) the laggs and crashes starts....

The Server is full with Power, and the Bandwidth is okay!
I pay over € 100 for this bloody server that alle the plugins run stable (Because mYSound4ever has much plugins... and players 24hours)

Over 4 Years optimations and powerups...

So i think its not an serverside problem

Now more and more players report us alot of LAGG Problems since this Wc3ft Update.
Well, 3.0 is not final yet, so I am assuming there is stuff that still can be optimized, but probably non is listed here

I re-read the above, and your server forums are in German, right? I have a Russian admin who may be able to translate the originals better (he's pretty crazy, in a good way, but that's Russians for you).

What the developers are trying to tell you is that either what you're asking for is not a bug, or that they cannot understand you.

Here's my take on it, let me know whether this is what you meant or not:

BUGS:
- When joining the server, the player first must type "changerace" to see the Menu
-> That's an old bug, the latest beta actually fixes it, but trust me, the side effects are worse than the bug.

- Only 1 HE Buy at Round Start (want works)
-> You mean you WANT the 1 HE per player to work? That it should work but doesn't?

- When you type "shopmenu" or use the bind, it needs over 1 second until Menu pops up!
-> Possibly server related. I'm not a pro at amxx coding like Geesu, but I know that adding a delay in here and there can make things more reliable and smoother at the expense of speed.

- Moles still cant buy Weapons
-> I think again you mean that they sometimes can, sometimes can't, buy weapons. That the limitation is a bit buggy.

- Godmode at round start dont works
-> Already dealt with this. You're referring to spawn protection.

Sorry, I know a lot of the above has been stated already, but I thought it useful to summarize. What also might be useful is for you to turn on debugging in your plugins.ini for wc3ft.amxx, and see what error logs you get. They'll show up in your addons/amxmodx/logs/ directory with error_ as a prefix to the filename.



Your other points:

If it's crashing - use the amx binary logging DLLS from amxmodx.org/downloads.php + post the .bin files it creates WHEN it crashes so i can find out why

Just as Geesu said, if you shoot someone but you don't kill them, then you switch to Spec, you will still gain the assist xp as you assisted in the kill

I think there is still a bug dealing with this, don't take my word for it

Either this has been fixed for the latest Beta, or it will be fixed soon

If you read the description of the skill (in 2.3.2), you respawn with 50 hp. Not a bug, I think.





Now, if you are seeing crashes, use the BL as Geesu just said. Warning, enabling the binary logging will make your server run like shit

Just as Geesu said, if you shoot someone but you don't kill them, then you switch to Spec, you will still gain the assist xp as you assisted in the kill
It's not what Geesu said. He's saying that spectator viewed kills, regardless of whether you were even alive in that round anywhere near that kill, attribute assist XP to the spectator. I'm unsure whether he means 'dead' or 'spectator'. But either way, it's not just that you died while assisting a kill. He means following someone along while dead/spec gets you assist XP for the rest of that round. I'll test this out as soon as the colo restarts my box.

Correct, this has been fixed

When? I have downloaded the Wc3 (actually) Version before 2 Days, and this Bug still present

Yes i know, but the Players mean, if they have 100 HP and USE the Ultimate they LOST 50 HP for it.... and this is sad! Understand? First 100 HP... after Ultimate Use... 50 HP.... bad challange.

First, don't make it seem like you are yelling at us.

1) The latest beta fixes it. You don't have access to it till it is release as RC6

2) Well, it is hard to understand translation English

3) Maybe Geesu can add a check for it. Maybe, if you ask nicely and politely.

He's not yelling. Seriously. It's just broken English. I get this all the time on my servers. Sorry if it sounds like I'm spamming this subject, it's just that I think there are some interesting bugs his players may have found that the rest of us haven't. The language barrier is a pain, but at least he took the time to post, and is doing his best to explain what he means.

I'm not sure which country you're in YamiKaitou, but here in Auckland, NZ we get lots of immigrants with extremely poor English skills. It's very easy to jump to the wrong conclusion.

Russians on my servers used to drive me bonkers until I realized the way they were taught colloquial English was really, really, wrong. ;-) Often you can understand them better over TS or vent, but sometimes not. I don't think Nightfire is trying to be rude, he's just not able to express himself in English properly.

Again, I can find German translators for bug posts if necessary.

Here is the German Kind of the List (Without the Bugfixed and failed things)

- changerace Menu taucht beim joinen nicht automatisch auf
- Only 1 HE Buy Feature (war3ft.conf) funktioniert nicht
- Angeblich bekommt man als Spectator mit ausgewählter Rasse dauerhaft XP wenn man einen Spieler beobachtet
- Bei der Rasse Chameleon wird ab und an ein falschen Ultimate ICON angezeigt (ZB: Teleport, und ist in wirklichkeit Undead Ultimate)
- Shopmenu Preise werden als viel zu teuer empfunden (Allgemein)
- Neckless & Helm sind zu schnell verbraucht und zu teuer
- Neckless verbraucht pro Angriff 2 Blöcke anstatt einen!
- Teilweise funktioniert die Kette der Imunität nicht! Enemys können sich trotzdem zu einem porten oder auch einen Kopfschuss (bei Helm) geben

@anders_dog: I live in the US. I have banned several Russians for speaking thier native language when I have said multiple times English only. They do it over Voicecomm, so I don't know what they are saying. Plus, it mostly happens when one of them is dead and the other is alive, so I have no choice to assume they are ghosting.

@nightfire: If you really need a translation badly, take the lang file and request a german translation on the amxx forums

Fair enough. But can you see how he did that out of frustration, rather than anger? It wasn't yelling at you it was just a 'Gah!' reaction. He wants to say: "I know it's a new feature, but that it's not a feature if it doesn't actually work." Then flames start bursting out of his skull with frustration...

re: Russians on servers. I was 85% of the way toward perm banning one about 2 years ago because I found his attitude insanely offensive. Now he's one of my most active and useful admins. You definitely need some patience. But as for ghosting -- meh -- admin_gag ftw.

Back on track. I think we've basically worked out what your bug posts were, and don't need to translate the text above at all. I was thinking about in future when the next RC is out and downloadable. I'll send the Russian I mentioned above over here to see whether my efforts are close-ish or not to the German language buglist.

- Spectators who has choosen a race got XP for "HELP"!!!! (IMPORTANT) -- BIG BUG
-> This is an odd one. I'm going to try to replicate this on my server as I hadn't come across it before. Short version: spectators might be able to gain assist XP simply by following around a player.
happened to me. let me explain: you hit someone, die and then go to spectator... you get the kill assist xp, then the round ends. then you sometimes get it again etc
- Neckless & Helm are to fast used out and are to expensive
-> Makes no sense. Rephrase pls.

-> In FF mode this should be the behaviour. Do you mean it happens also in non-FF mode?
he means sometimes in the first 1-2 seconds of the round, even if the FF is turned off, if someone shoots you in the head, you either will lose the helm charges, or you will die. happened to me, and still happening (i think... never tried again). it also happened to hit another player in the first 1-2 seconds with FF off. try it.

do not use 3.0. its a waste of time trying to even use it. like he said use 2.3.2 until he can fix it which i think you might have to wait for a while since i have seen this new version work in progress for about 6 moths now. this new version isnt very good IMO.

The guys and girls on my servers disagree. There are one or two semi-major exploits in the beta (not the RC) that either are, or shortly will be, resolved. But my users definitely prefer to put up with the small inconveniences in order to play the new version.

Each to their own. I think Geesu and the team are doing a fab job.

@bacarra: You probably are going to stay with your editted version of 2.3.2 once 3.0 is release anyways, so why do you really have to be so negative about it?

If it can be solved by using the wiki, then we will forward them there. But if they are trying to use 2.3.2 with AmxX1.75+, the answer will be to use 3.0

im not being negative about it. i just think 2.3.2 is the best release he had. adding new features to it is great and all but after 6 months of messing with it, you would think it would have been resolved by now. im not a coder by any means and i think what geesu has done to the cs community is great. but IMO instead of adding new features to it, wny not fix some of the problems that 2.3.2 has.

If you buy Gloves, you DONT earn an Nade in the next round, only the notice "Enjoy the Grenade" comes up.. but no nade!

Now after many Weeks using the RC5 Release, one BIG problem comes up!

I try to translate the Problem:
ITS VERRY IMPORTANT! Because more and more Player know this Bug, and using it for massiv attacks on the server

"If you play as Bloodmage, then changing to Shadowhunter and make the first kill! Then the server will goes down and the map goes changed to de_dust"


I hope you can tell me some positiv about this...
Also some Players says all the time "server goes extremly laggy since rc5"

But this...is an old discussion!

In that case, turn on the binary logging and do that. Get the last BL log and put it here. That will help Geesu find the error

Nightfire, have you tried to "crash" the server in that way with all 3rd party plugins disabled except for the frozen throne mod?

Sorry Guys...

I changed now back to the old version of WC3.

We lost now all our players after 4 Weeks using the RC5 Release.
Its to buggy....

Server crashing all the time... players angry about the shopmenu pricings ... and so on!

Then massiv XP Lost reports comes up... anoying :(


mYSound4ever is an stable WC3 CS Server Project with much of Players, but now... its looks verry bad, so i must change this situation.


I hope there will be released an stable version soon...

I will try to organisate an new server, where i will install the RC5 Version "for testing".
