Introduction

This guide is depreciated

Create a new directory by typing the following command: <pre>mkdir hlds_l</pre>
Move to this directory by typing the following:<pre>cd hlds_l</pre>
Download the steam installation file by typing:<pre>wget http://war3ft.com/downloads/misc/steam</pre>
Give this file executable permissions by typing:<pre>chmod +x steam</pre>
Now run the file that was just extracted by typing:<pre>./steam</pre>This should update your steam updater</pre>
Now run the following command to begin installing counter-strike (Note: to install condition zero change cstrike to czero and to install Day of Defeat change cstrike to dod):<pre>./steam -command update -game cstrike -dir .</pre>
After this command you should see a message like:<pre>No installation record found at /home/username/hlds_l</pre>
To start your game server type this in the command line:<pre>./hlds_run -game cstrike +map de_dust +maxplayers 10 -autoupdate</pre>
