2 races can be picked at the same time while playing

Post by TEG » Sun Jan 15, 2006 12:25 pm

Hello there.

Need help with the following, having just installed the war3ft mode:

When people log on to my server, they get the option to pick a race - so fare so good, and everything is normal.

When the round, which they joined, is finished, they get to choose yet another race, and for the rest of the time thet are logged on, they play 2 races at the same time. :?

I.E. when they win a round, they are awarded XP on both races. This makes the server attravtive to some players, but was never my intention.

Please - what am I doing wrong here?

Thanks

This is not even possible.... People actually said this? XP is stored on a per race basis...

And the variable that stores the player's race holds one number only, I don't see this happening...

Well - believe it or not, this was actually happening.

This was reported to me by a player, and I went on the server and tried it my self. I picked 2 races which both had 0 XP. On the opening round I picked one race, and the next round I could pick a different one. On every consequetive round hereafter, I would get XP for both races. Trust me - that happened. And it didn't happen only once - it happened all day.

The text, on the finishing screen in every round, would also give me identical 2 lines. Both would state that I was awarded XP.

I have found out, that I, in my config.ini, had the following:

; Custom - Add 3rd party plugins here
warcraft3ft.amxx debug
warcraft3ft.amxx

I.E. a "warcraft3ft.amxx" to many. Could this possibly have caused it?

Haha. Running the plugin twice. That would indeed cause it. You're lucky it hasn't somehow crashed your server or destroyed all your user data somehow.

Lazarus Long: And I know you didn't because the Server Files are version 2.2.6 and the file you posted is version 2.2.5, so do as I told you above and don't ever lie to me again or help is gone!

You run it once without debug and once with debug and so you load the plugin 2 times... That's the reason that the people can pick up 2 races, got it now? :)

Just take one of the lines away and so it is only loaded once ;)
